WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
Our Artisans“When I say artist I mean the one who is building things … some with a brush – some with a shovel – some choose a pen.” ~Jackson Pollock
It is an honor to host our selected artists and crafters this year. They each bring handmade treasures to showcase and sell. They create from the inspiration that lives in them. Ask them about it! Plan to spend time talking with the artists about their unique work and creative processes. Take home the pieces that you enjoy. Besides, it is not too early to begin your holiday shopping! |
For the Kids...This family fun festival has something for everyone! Make a Corn husk or Old fashioned Rag Doll. Weave a pot holder, create a work of art with potato stamps, or try your hand at a Tin Punch creation. Blow bubbles, play yarn games, shell corn, and go on a Scavenger Hunt! The fun goes on all day!

Event LocationHistoric Allison-Deaver HouseThe Allison-Deaver House is a historic house in Brevard, North Carolina. It was built in 1815 and is thought to be the oldest standing frame home west of the Blue Ridge. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
In the early 20th century, the house was purchased by the Deaver family, who lived there for many years. In the 1970s, Aware of the historic value of the house, a group of citizens formed the Transylvania County Historical Society and bought the house, barn, and nearly four acres of land. Since then the Society has restored and maintained the house as a tribute to the early settlers, as an example of remarkable mountain-crafted architecture, and as a gift to present and future citizens. Guided tours will begin on the half hours during the Festival. |
Today, the Allison-Deaver House located in Pisgah Forest, NC on NC280 North, just north of the Forest Gate Shopping Center, is a popular tourist attraction in Brevard. Visitors can tour the house and learn about the history of the area and the people who lived there. The house is also used for community events and educational programs.
